As with melancholy, this is again dealing with the presentation of a difficult term. What is “elegy”? If googled, one finds
two particular terms: ‘poem form’ and ‘sadness’, and along with the search “Lieberoth”, this picture is also displayed
there. I believe, something is hovering over me like a “carried sadness” when painting. And again there are the eyes of
the two figures, which are very important, but certainly also important is the soft flourish in the right part of the picture.
